a warehouse facility in Quebec; five people were sentenced to prison
When maple syrup farmer Ruth Landry finds her livelihood under attack from greedy competitors who were once her friends, she devises a scheme to exact revenge and shake up the industry. I want to start by mentioning that I went into this show with average to low expectations, so there were no major disappointments or real surprises. I knew about the real maple heist, saw the preview, and thought it would be a fun watch.
It's someone else's job, repeated over and over again
And it could be a fun watch if you're into a low-brow rip-off of Fargo by people who don't understand any of the functional ingredients of Coen brother films. And I guess you could say that all the little elements they've pilfered from other films could be homages and hat-tricks if they didn't feel so awkwardly and inappropriately confident in their own uniqueness. There's a certain smugness to the writing and directing that, frankly, isn't deserved.
Bitter, homely, bad-ass, weird-bad-ass
It's the end of the telephone game, and the phrase is almost unrecognizable. The only real draw to the show, the thing that kept me watching until the end, was the cast. They give it 100%, even if the characters are the same archetypes that these actors seem to always play these days.

It seems like certain cast members can't seem to escape the stereotypes that have trapped them. I want better coverage for them, even if they are truly great at what they've been constantly trapped in. "One Hundred Years of Solitude" is one of the biggest TV and streaming premieres this month.
